Block Wall

The rear yards of most Las Vegas homes have a block wall perimeter. There will be a gate at one side. If you own a pool, the gate must be self-closing and lockable to prevent neighborhood children from entering the yard. Provided your property is the same elevation as your neighbors the wall will usually be six feet high.

Vinyl Fencing

Recently some local builders have begun installing vinyl fencing. This PVC material seems to be impervious to weather conditions, requires no painting and looks very attractive.

Landscaping

Most new homebuilders offer 3 landscaping choices for the front yard.

Desert landscaping is encouraged in the Las Vegas valley. It is estimated that up to 75% of your home's water consumption is sprayed on your lawn. So desert landscaping is your most environment-friendly option.

New homebuilders do not landscape back yards. The thinking goes that you may want to install a pool or spa, or that you have special gardening requirements.
