A Las Vegas Home
The Interior
Kitchen
Builders will offer you a variety of
cabinet finishes and counter-top materials. The standard cabinets are typically
oak flat paneled in a square frame. The upgraded door illustrated is a
raised-panel, arched frame, maple door. Generally, your choice of kitchen
cabinets will carry through to all cabinets in the home.
Standard
countertops are either ceramic tile or a laminate material such as Formica or
Wilsonart. Upgrading to solid surface materials such as Corion may add
$2,000-$4,000 to the price of your home. Marble is not recommended for
countertops as it can be easily stained by coffee, wine or citrus materials.
However, granite offers a stain and scratch resistant food preparation
surface.
Whether you are buying a new home or a resale it is customary for the stove and dishwasher to be included. The appliances in a new home base model are usually white-on-white basic models. Self-cleaning ovens and stainless steel finishes are upgrades.
