Mississippi

The southern state of Mississippi is so named after the Mississippi River which forms its western border. Lumber is a major industry and much of the state is heavily forested, mostly with pine trees. Per capita personal income is the lowest in the nation. Some major cities include: Jackson, Gulfport, Biloxi, Natchez, Vicksburg, Centreville, Columbia, Columbus and Greenville.
